This is a 3-volume set of high - quality leather - bound books from The Easton Press. The first volume, 'The Presidency of James K. Polk' by Paul H. Bergeron, was copyrighted in 1991. The other two volumes, 'James K. Polk: Vol. One - Jacksonian, 1795 - 1843' and 'Vol. Two - Continentalist, 1843 - 1846' by Charles Sellers, were copyrighted in 1987. The books are in good condition. The covers have minor damage like soiling, sunning, wrinkling, and shelf - wear. The text blocks are gilded with some tarnishing, scratching, and staining. There are bookplates in the front pastedown, and pages sometimes have an embossed emblem in the bottom corner but are otherwise bright, clean, intact, and legible. The bindings are tight and sturdy, and there are ribbon bookmarks with some creasing and fraying.

These books are great for history lovers. To use them, simply open the cover and start reading. When you're done, mark your page with the attached ribbon bookmark. Keep them away from direct sunlight to prevent further sunning of the covers. Avoid getting them wet as it could damage the pages and bindings. If there's dust on the books, use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe them. Don't bend the pages or the covers too forcefully to keep the books in good shape. And remember, since the ribbon bookmarks are a bit fragile, handle them carefully to avoid more fraying.
