Product Description

This bundle includes two classic language books. 'The American Language: an Inquiry into the Development of English in the United States' by H.L. Mencken, published by Alfred A. Knopf in 1937 (4th Edition Reprinted February 1937). The other is 'Aspects of Language' by Dwight Bolinger, published by Harcourt, Brace & World, Inc. in 1968 with an unstated edition. The books are in acceptable condition. There's minor soiling on the covers, and the text blocks show soiling, tarnishing, and foxing. The pages have some soiling but readability is unaffected. The pages of 'The American Language' have severely yellowed with age and are fragile, and there's writing on the pages of 'Aspects of Language' without affecting readability. The bindings are loosened.

These books are great for language enthusiasts and researchers. To use them, simply open the pages and start reading. When handling, be gentle due to the fragile pages of 'The American Language'. To keep them in good shape, store them in a dry and cool place away from direct sunlight. Avoid getting the pages wet as it could cause further damage. If you want to flip through the pages, wash your hands first to prevent additional soiling. When not in use, you can place them on a bookshelf, but try not to stack heavy items on top as the bindings are already loose.
