'The Joys of Yiddish' is penned by Leo Rosten and published by McGraw - Hill Book Company in the same year (also third printing). The books are in acceptable to good condition. 'The Joys of Yiddish' has a damaged dust jacket with closed and open tears, rubbing, sunning, creasing, and foxing. Covers have some damage, with 'The Joys of Yiddish' having minimal soiling and shelf - wear, and 'Yiddish for Yankees' showing rubbing, sunning, soiling, staining, and shelf - wear. 'Yiddish for Yankees' is bowed. Both text blocks have foxing and soiling, and 'The Joys of Yiddish' has a discolored colored top text block. 'Yiddish for Yankees' has colored pencil script on the front free - endpaper and foxing on front and back pastedowns and free - ends. Pages in both books have occasional foxing but are otherwise bright, clean, intact, and legible. The bindings are strong.
